The 52nd head of the Dawoodi Bohra Community, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) founded Mahad-al-Zahra in 1396H (1976 A.D.) with the lofty intention of ensuring that the benefits of Al-Quran reach the home of every mumin (community member).

Use of the latest technology and best resources facilitated the speedy realization of this intention. The inception, existence and growth of Mahad-al-Zahra are due to the blessings of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS).

Being an integral part of Al Jamea tus Saifiyah, Mahad-al-Zahra functions from dedicated on campus buildings located in Surat, India and Karachi, Pakistan.

Al Jamea tus Saifiyah is an Arabic Academy, established at surat in 1810 A.D., offering a complete and diverse range of Islamic and secular subjects for students from secondary to post-graduate level.
